About

Built by people who know the problem.

Most freelancers use multiple apps to manage their work. Hours get lost between them.

The problem.

Running a freelance business means juggling work across clients, projects, and billing cycles. For years, that meant using one app for project management, another for time tracking, and a third for invoicing — and doing a lot of manual work to connect them.

The result was predictable: hours that didn't get billed. Not because the work wasn't done, but because the tools made it easy to lose track. A time entry that didn't make it into an invoice. A task that was finished but never closed out. Small amounts that added up.

There had to be a better way to run this — one tool, one workflow, nothing falling through the cracks.

The solution.

Aeto is built around one idea: if the work is on the board, it should be on the bill. Every task connects to a timer, and every logged hour flows directly into an invoice — automatically, without re-entry.

It's available on Mac, in any browser, and through a Chrome Extension. It costs $10/month. And it's designed specifically for solo freelancers, not teams or agencies.

Who built it.

Aeto was originally built by Jim MacLeod. Jim is a creative and digital marketing leader with 25+ years of experience in tech, across agencies, and in-house teams. He has spent his career in environments where creative work gets scoped, tracked, and billed. He understands that workflow from the inside.
